Dance Moves and Manners is proud to offer this new column by our dear friend and darn good dancer, Ms. Sandy Williams

Because we know that it's hard for single folks to go out to a dance alone, we asked Sandy to offer her gentle wisdom to our many widows, and widowers, dance widows, 'used to be married...but not doing that anymore" and others who want to travel together as companions to local area dances.

Sandy has wonderful grace & a great attitude about

'how to handle the dance scene alone' and her companionship and aid getting to and from dances and even help with ticket purchases will be an asset to all.

We wanted to call this new column

"For a Good Time Call Sandy!"
 

But she over-ruled us and decided to call the column

Hey there singles, do you wanna dance?

The next dance that I know about is a dance party Friday, June 18th 7:30 - 10:30 at the Mid-Shore YMCA, 715 Schumaker Dr., Salisbury, MD. Early Bird Samba or Salsa Lesson 7:30 - 8:00. Admission to dance $12.00/$10.00 USA dance members. For more information check out amanda@dancingontheshore.com.

After that we can look forward to the dinner and dance at the Cape Henlopen Elks Club.  Dinner is steamed shrimp this month and the music is Bill Brittingham and the fabulous 50's. The tickets are $12.00 and it should be a fun night for some of us seniors. We remember the days.  So far I have four at the "Williams" table. You are welcome to buy your ticket at the Elks and let them know you would like to join us. If you cannot get to Lewes to buy your ticket let me know as soon as possible and maybe I can pick one up for you. Don't wait too long as they often sell out. Tables hold 10 so there is plenty of room now.  Anyone willing to dance with a SINGLE is also welcome at our table.

There is a hand dancing group at the Fenwick Inn on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 to 9:30 PM.  I have not checked it out yet but would like to.  If anyone is interested in checking that one out with me, let me know. My phone number is 302-877-0340.

Then comes July.  I will try to let you know about those dances that I know about. One to save the date for is the Ballroom on the Beach in Ocean City on July 31st.  They held their first dance last Friday and it was quite a nice dance.  Lots of good dancers to watch and dance with.  I saw a lot of faces from a number of dance venues that I have attended. The more we support these dances the better chance we have of getting more to choose from.
